Meeting with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal

Dear community members,

As you all must be aware that high-level U.S. Congressional Delegation led by Democratic  leader Nancy Pelosi visited Dharamsala on May 9th, 2017.  It’s great honor for us and we are very grateful to Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, who was on of the delegation member, in accepting our request to meet our community members on June 5th @ 4pm at Sakya Monastery.  During meeting, Congresswoman will share her experience in Dharamsala and would also like to hear concerns of our community.

If we really want to raise the issue of Tibet with US govt., most effective way would be through direct interaction with representative of US govt.  We do not get an opportunity like this too often therefore I would like to request every member of our community to attend the meeting.  Show of strength with large number of participation will not only make the congresswoman feel welcomed but would also encourage her to raise our issue in Congress.

Please make earnest effort to attend the meeting even if you have to take some time off from work.  We will never be able to make progress in our fight for Tibet if we always leave it for convenience and spare time.

Meeting with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal

Date:  06/05/17 (Monday)

Time:  4PM – 5:30PM
